Heatwave alert: keep cool, keep hydrated, keep safe

Dear all

With the heatwave across the UK this week, we want to check in and make sure everyone is safe and comfortable.

Please take a moment to look after yourselves and keep the following in mind when you are playing tennis:

  • Stay well hydrated throughout your games.
  • Try to avoid playing during the hottest times of day where possible – postpone to next week if you can.
  • Limit time in direct sunlight or very warm spaces where you can.

If you start to feel unwell on court:

  • Please stop playing straight away, tell your opponents and retreat to the shade.
  • Move somewhere safe and comfortable and sit or lie down if needed.
  • Inform Andrew if he is on site.
  • Seek help as soon as possible. This could be a First Aider or, if symptoms are serious, calling 999.

Your wellbeing is really important to us, so please take care, pace yourself, and look out for one another during this hot weather.

Many thanks

Jo & Andrew
